Make every delivery feel like your brand
Your logo on the tracking page, a polite rider, careful packaging: small details that make a neighbourhood shop feel premium.

You choose your products with care. You decorate the shop, train your staff to be friendly and wrap things neatly. Then the order leaves the shop in the hands of a rider, and for the next half hour the customer meets a stranger in an ordinary jacket.
That last stretch is the part customers remember. If it feels like your shop, you look like a business they can trust. If it feels random, they forget your name.
Here is how to make delivery feel like you, with small, affordable details.
Delivery is the last moment of the sale#
Everything before the door is yours: the product, the packing, the call. At the door it is the rider who is your shop. How they greet, how they hand over the bag and how they leave is the final impression.
You cannot control every second. But you can set a few simple habits, and tell customers who you are before the rider arrives.
Your name and logo on the tracking link#
When a customer opens their tracking link, the page shows your shop's name and logo at the top. It also shows how many stops come before theirs, an arrival estimate once the rider is on the way, and the rider's first name with a button to call.
The customer looks at this page more than once while waiting. If the logo is missing, it looks generic. Add your logo in the business profile, and every tracking page carries it.
Rider etiquette checklist#
Riders are not salespeople, and they do not need a script. A few simple habits are enough. Share this list with your team:
Greet the customer with a smile and say the shop's name.
Check the name on the order before handing it over.
Hand the bag over with both hands, upright, without dropping it at the door.
Call the customer when close, and wait a few minutes if they are coming.
Keep the helmet and jacket tidy, and keep the bag clean.
Do not argue. If something is wrong, say "I will tell the shop" and call.
Say thank you.
Packaging that survives the trip#
Packing is part of your brand. A wet bag or crushed box says more than any logo.
Seal everything. A sticker or a tied knot shows the order has not been opened.
Put heavy items at the bottom and soft or fragile ones on top.
Separate hot, cold and dry items, so they do not spoil each other.
Add the order slip on top with the customer's name, so the rider and the customer can check.
Use the same bag every time. Even a plain bag with your shop's name on a sticker becomes recognisable.
Ask for feedback#
A short message after delivery tells the customer that you care. "Hope everything arrived well. Anything we can improve?" is enough. Keep the replies in one place, read them every week, and thank customers who write.
Feedback that comes up twice is a pattern. Fix it first. See how to handle delivery complaints when something goes wrong.
A simple one-week plan#
You do not need a big budget to look professional. Try this over one week:
Day 1: add your logo to the business profile.
Day 2: pick the bag, sticker or slip that goes in every order.
Day 3: share the rider checklist with your riders and answer their questions.
Day 4 onwards: send the tracking link with every order.
End of week: send a short feedback message to five customers and read the replies.
By the end of the week, every order that leaves your shop looks like it comes from one business, not from several people doing their best.
Frequently asked questions#
Do my riders need a uniform?
It helps, but it is not necessary. A shirt or jacket with your shop's name makes the rider look like part of your team. A clean, tidy appearance matters more than the brand.
Can the customer see my logo without an app?
Yes. The tracking link opens in the customer's phone browser, with your name and logo. Nothing needs to be installed.
How do I add my logo?
Open your business profile in the outlet portal and upload it. See Set up your business profile and logo.
Does branding really matter for a small shop?
For a neighbourhood shop, being known is the whole business. Customers who remember your name come back, and tell their neighbours.
Add your logo this week and share the rider checklist with your team. Both take less than an hour.
