Is MiniDrop right for your business? A 2-minute check
Six quick questions to see whether delivery software will save you time and money, and when a notebook and WhatsApp are still enough.

Not every shop needs delivery software. A small shop with one rider and a handful of orders can run on a notebook and a phone for a long time.
But there is a point where phone calls and WhatsApp stop being a system and start being a daily struggle. This check helps you see which side of that line you are on. It takes two minutes, and it is honest: if you do not need MiniDrop yet, we will say so.
Six signs you have outgrown phone calls and WhatsApp#
Read each line and tick the ones that sound like your shop.
I deliver with my own riders, or I am about to start.
I spend part of every busy evening on the phone telling riders where to go.
Customers call to ask "where is my order?" and I have to call the rider to find out.
A rider has gone to the wrong address, or taken the wrong parcel, more than once.
At the end of the day I cannot easily say how many orders each rider delivered.
My riders choose the order of their stops themselves, and some days they drive the same roads twice.
How to read your result. This is a rule of thumb, not a test. If you ticked the first line and two or three more, delivery software will probably pay for itself in time saved. If you ticked most of them, you are already losing money to the way you work today.
When you don't need it yet#
A notebook and WhatsApp can still be enough when:
You send one or two deliveries a day, with one rider you can see and speak to easily.
Your customers rarely call to ask about their order.
You only sell through delivery apps and do not use riders of your own.
If that is you, keep it simple and come back when your orders grow. Nothing is lost by waiting. When you have a second rider, or when you notice that evenings are being eaten by phone calls, that is the moment to look again.
A typical day, before and after#
Here is how an ordinary delivery day changes for a shop that moves to MiniDrop.
Phone calls and WhatsApp | With MiniDrop |
|---|---|
Order arrives. You write the address on a slip or type it into a message. | Order arrives. You add the delivery once. Repeat customers already have their address saved. |
Planning. You decide in your head who takes what, then explain it by phone. | Planning. You press Dispatch now. Orders are split across your riders and each rider's stops are put in order. |
Checking. You hope the plan is sensible. | Checking. You see each route on a map, change it if you want, then approve. |
On the road. Riders call for directions. You send location pins. | On the road. Riders open their trip and tap for directions to each stop. |
Customer asks. You call the rider, then call the customer back. | Customer asks. The customer opens their tracking link and sees for themselves. |
End of day. You remember roughly how it went. | End of day. Every order has a status and a timeline you can look up. |
The deliveries are the same. What changes is how much of your attention they need.
Frequently asked questions#
How many orders a day do I need before MiniDrop makes sense?
There is no magic number. A better question is whether delivery is taking time you cannot spare. If you have more than one rider, or your evenings fill up with calls, it is worth a look.
I only have one rider. Is that enough?
Yes. One rider is enough to start. You still get saved customer addresses, stops in the right order, a tracking link for your customers and a record of every delivery.
Will my riders find it hard to use?
The rider app is built to be simple: trips with the stops in order, the customer's details and one-tap directions. Most of what your riders do is tap one button for each order.
What if my shop already uses billing software?
Billing software can be connected so that orders arrive in MiniDrop automatically. You do not have to retype them.
Still not sure? Read what MiniDrop does for your business, or sign up and start with one rider. It is free to start.
