After your account is approved, MiniDrop takes you through a short, full-screen setup. It shows one thing per screen and takes about five minutes.
This guide explains each screen, so you know what to expect and what to prepare.
Before you start#
Your account is approved. Here is how to sign up and get approved.
Your first rider's name, 10-digit phone number and email address.
A phone number riders can call from your shop.
Step 1: Welcome
The first screen says Welcome with your name and lists what is coming: check your shop details, add your delivery rider, see your free credits and choose how you create orders. Choose Let's start.
Step 2: Your shop
Your shop shows the address riders will come to for pickups. Check it, and enter the 10-digit phone number riders can call from the shop. If the address needs to change, use the message button on the screen to tell us. When it looks right, choose Looks right.
Step 3: Add your delivery rider
Fill in Rider's name, Phone and Email, then choose Send invite. MiniDrop sends the rider the app link and their login to that email address. If the person already uses MiniDrop, they sign in with their own password.
Your first rider unlocks the rest of the portal. You can add more riders later.
Step 4: Your rider goes Online
Ask your rider to open the rider app, sign in and tap Online. Only riders who are online get your orders.
The screen has a QR code for the Android app. The rider can scan it with their phone, or tap it on the phone to open the install page. iPhone is marked as coming soon, so riders need an Android phone. If the rider cannot go online now, choose Continue, they will do it later.
Step 5: Credits
This screen shows the credits in your wallet. Each delivery uses a little credit. If free credits have been added for you to try MiniDrop, you will see them here.
Step 6: How will orders reach MiniDrop?
Choose the option that fits your shop. I'll enter orders here means you type the customer's name, phone and address in the outlet portal. My billing software will send them means orders arrive from your billing or order software on their own. You can use both later.
If you choose to enter orders here, the screen shows three short steps and a Create a test order button.
Step 7: You're all set!
The last screen says your dashboard shows today's orders, riders and credits. Choose Go to my dashboard.
Frequently asked questions#
Why is the rest of the portal locked?
MiniDrop needs at least one rider before it can plan a delivery, so the setup asks for your first rider before it opens everything else.
What if my rider is not ready to go online yet?
Choose Continue, they will do it later. Orders will wait in the queue until a rider is online.
Can I leave the setup and come back?
Yes. Later steps can be skipped and reopened from your dashboard.
I want to change my shop address.
Use the message button on the Your shop screen to ask us to change it.
When the setup is done, your next job is to get your riders working with the rider app and send your first trip. The first-week plan shows how.
