Your first week with MiniDrop: from sign-up to smooth deliveries
A day-by-day plan for your first week: sign up, add your riders, send your first trips and get customers used to tracking links.

You do not need a big launch to start with MiniDrop. You need a week, a rider and a few real orders.
This plan takes you from sign-up to your first smooth deliveries, one small job a day. Some days take ten minutes. You can go slower if you like, nothing here expires.
The plan#
Step 1: Day 1: Sign up and get approved
Sign up with your email, tell MiniDrop about your shop and choose My own riders. Then submit your details for approval. Approval usually takes one working day, and you get an email when it is done. Here is the step-by-step guide.
Step 2: Day 2: Add your shop details and your riders
Once you are approved, MiniDrop takes you through a few short screens: check your shop's details, add your first rider and see how orders reach MiniDrop. Add a phone number riders can call from the shop. Then add your other riders under Delivery executives. Here is what each setup screen asks.
Step 3: Day 3: Riders install the app and do a practice trip
Ask each rider to install the MiniDrop rider app on their Android phone, sign in with the details MiniDrop sent them and tap Online. Only riders who are online get orders.
Then do a practice trip. Create one or two orders to nearby addresses, such as your own home, and let the rider deliver them once, so they see the whole flow before a real customer is waiting.
Step 4: Day 4: Send your first real deliveries
Add the day's real orders to the queue. When you are ready, press Dispatch now. MiniDrop splits the orders across your riders and arranges each rider's stops.
Open each rider's route on the map, check that it looks right, change anything you want, and approve. Your riders get a notification with their trip. Stay close to the first few trips and watch them on the live map.
Step 5: Days 5 to 7: Put dispatch on a schedule and share tracking links
By now you know the rhythm of your orders. Set dispatch to run on a schedule, either every few minutes or at fixed times of the day, so trips are planned without you pressing a button. You still approve every route.
Share the tracking link with your customers. It carries your shop's name and logo, so every customer sees your brand, not ours.
Tips for each rider's first trip#
Start with a short trip of two or three nearby orders, not a full evening rush.
Make sure the rider has allowed location and notifications on the phone, so trips arrive and directions work.
Tell the rider who to call at the shop if a customer cannot be found.
Ask the rider afterwards what felt confusing. Their answers tell you what to explain to the rest of the team.
What good looks like after week one#
You do not need big numbers to know it is working. After a week, you should be able to say:
Every rider has signed in, gone online and completed at least one trip.
You have dispatched real orders and approved the routes yourself.
Your customers have opened at least one tracking link.
You can see, for any order, what happened and when.
You made fewer phone calls to riders than the week before.
Frequently asked questions#
Can I do the whole plan in one day?
You can sign up the same day, but approval usually takes one working day, so plan for at least two. After approval, adding riders and a first trip can happen in one sitting.
What if I only have one rider?
The plan works exactly the same. Add one rider on day 2 and skip the extra riders. You still get stops in order, tracking links and a record of every delivery.
What if a rider forgets to go online?
Only online riders get orders, so the order would wait in the queue. Remind the rider to open the app and tap Online before the shift starts.
Should I tell my customers before I start?
A short message helps: tell them they will get a tracking link so they can follow their order.
Ready to begin? Day 1 takes about ten minutes.
