Getting started

What is MiniDrop?

MiniDrop is delivery management software for local businesses in India. You create deliveries, MiniDrop plans the routes for your own riders, and everyone can track the delivery live.

Who is MiniDrop for?

Shops, kitchens and stores that deliver locally: meat and fish shops, cloud kitchens, restaurants, pharmacies, bakeries, grocery stores, supermarkets, fresh produce, pet food, flower and retail stores.

How do I start?

Sign up online with “Start free”. Once your outlet is approved you can add riders and create your first deliveries. The docs walk you through each step.

Can businesses use their own riders with MiniDrop?

Yes. Add your delivery staff as riders in the outlet portal. They use the MiniDrop rider app to see trips, navigate to each stop and mark orders picked up and delivered.

How do customers track their delivery?

Every assigned order gets a private tracking link that shows the order status, the rider's live position on a map, how many stops are before theirs and an arrival estimate.

How much does MiniDrop cost?

Pricing depends on how your business delivers. Talk to us on the contact page and we will explain the options for your business.

Route optimisation

What is route optimisation in delivery?

It is planning which rider delivers which orders, and in what order, so all deliveries are completed with the least travel. MiniDrop does this automatically for all your waiting orders and riders at once.

Does MiniDrop use real road distances?

Yes. Routes are planned on real roads, not on straight-line distance.

Can I change a route MiniDrop suggests?

Yes. Before you approve, you can reorder a rider's drops or release a rider's orders back to the queue.

Can dispatch run on its own?

Yes. Choose a fixed interval or fixed times of day. Each run plans the routes and sends them to you for approval.

Rider app

Is the rider app available on iPhone?

Not yet. The rider app runs on Android today, and the iPhone version is coming soon.

Does the app track riders all day?

No. The app shares the rider's location while they are working on trips, so the outlet and the customer can follow the delivery.

Can a rider work for my store only?

Yes. Riders you add are your own riders and only get your store's trips.

What happens if a customer is not home?

The rider can mark the order not delivered or put it on hold, and you see it immediately in the outlet portal.

Live tracking

Does my customer need to install an app?

No. The tracking link opens in any phone browser.

How is the tracking link sent to the customer?

You share it from MiniDrop, or your own system sends it: integrations receive the link in the API response and in every order webhook.

Is the arrival time exact?

It is an estimate shown as a range, updated as the rider moves.

What does the customer see after delivery?

The delivered status. The link stops working a day after the order is completed.

Delivery API

What kind of API is it?

A JSON REST API with token authentication, plus webhooks for status updates.

Is there a test environment?

Yes. The sandbox has the same endpoints with simulated order progress, so you can test without real riders.

Where is the API documentation?

In the Developers & API section of the MiniDrop docs, and in the outlet portal once you have an account.

Do you have ready-made plugins for my POS?

Integrations are built on the API. If your POS or ordering system can call a web API, it can create MiniDrop deliveries.
